Motöread: Zénith de Paris 2011

New review online: Motörhead in Paris!

Motörhead were promoting their latest record, called The Wörld Is Yours. But that’s only an excuse to be on tour, you know that this band loves to be on the road!

3 generations of hard rock maniacs were here tonight to see Lemmy, Phil and Mikkey.
They knew what we wanted, and that's exactly what they gave us!

If we wanted sound, well we had sound! It was very loud, maybe even for the usual Motörhead standard.

If we wanted rock’n’roll, we had a great dose of rock’n’roll classics on the setlist.

And if we wanted rare songs, there were rare songs!
For this tour, Motörhead decided to get a few forgotten classics back into the setlist.
I loved to hear tunes like The One To Sing The Blues and Orgasmatron.

Helloween live in Paris

Helloween were back in town with a new album, 7 Sinners, and a new tour with Stratovarius as special guests.
Well, the concert started with a bad news: As I walked into the venue I learnt that Stratovarius because Timo Kotipelto was sick.

Kreator / Exodus / Death Angel: Thrashfest live in Paris

Live report from Kreator at the Thrashfest available online!

Special 3 pages review with Death Angel and Exodus!!

As the headliners of the Thrashfest, Kreator were the only band to use the full production: They used the full stage, with an elevated platform on each side of Ventor’s drum.

Thus, Mille Petrozza could sing from 3 spots, the center, plus the left and right sides on the rear.
This gave the impression of a bigger stage.

Deep Purple: Live in Paris 2010

New concert review: Deep Purple live in Paris, October 2010

Deep Purple is one of the most succesful rock bands in France.
They play here almost every year. In 2010, they were even doing an extensive French Tour, covering the whole country.
Even if their latest album Rapture Of The Deep came out 5 years earlier in 2005, this concert was sold out... and it was the 4th gig in Paris since the album came out.

Deep Purple started their show precisely at 9pm. Their was an intro, a short intrumental jam... and the incredible Highway Star to start! read more...

Just two years after the last ZZ Top concert in Paris, the long beard Texas rockers were back in the French capital.

Ozzy live in Paris

It's been ages since the last time that Ozzy played in Paris. It was at a venue called La Cigale, on March 5 1992.
It was supposed to be his last tour, and well, it almost was his last time in Paris... but he finally came back more than 18 years later!

Ozzy Osbourne played live at Bercy Arena and did an amazing show.

Steel Panther live in Germany

Steel Panther are a very rare sight in Europe.
Previously, they had only played festivals in Sweden, Finland and the UK, and clubs in the England.

Steel Panther came to Europe to support Ozzy Osbourne at the Ozzfest in London. They sized the oportunity to do a headlining show in England, plus a short 4-gigs German Tour.

Guns'N'Roses live in Paris

New concert review posted online: Guns'N'Roses live in Paris, at Bercy Arena, on september 13 2010.

I went quite late to the venue even if the organizer said that GnR should be on stage around 9pm.
You all know the statistics: Guns'N'Roses are never ever on time!

The band started at 10:40 pm. Just an hour and 40 minutes late, which is not that much for Guns'N'Roses standards. Read the full Guns'N'Roses concert review

KISS live in Prague, Czech republic - May 23 2010

KISS Sonic Boom Over Europe Tour only stop in France was at the Hellfest in Clisson.

I knew I couldn't attend this show, as Slash was playing in Paris on the same day. Same for AC/DC who were playing in Paris 2 days earlier and woudldn't be able to see them.

But I found a solution: I went for a long weekend to Central Europe and saw AC/DC's concert in Wels, Austria, then the next day KISS in Prague.
